Time management is key to happiness in life.
(27 November 2011/3:30 PM)

Been some time since I last blog.
Last update was on the NBA Finals 2010-2011.
Soon after that, news broke out that there will be a NBA Season Lockout due to disagreements between owners & players. 100 over games were cancelled and now, 2011-2012 NBA Season will be resuming on Christmas. It's kinda annoying when you enter NBA.com & all you see is Greatest Moments in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, if not, the D-League news. Alright, enough of NBA talk.

Update on my life now yo.
I'm taking a break from my Year 1 Sem 2 UID Assignment 1.
A wordy report which requires nothing much but full focus from me to stay task on to finish it.
I'm aiming to finish at least 80% of it by today. Hopefully I can be able to do that since I'm feeling ultimately reluctant to socialise nowadays.

Fun-filled November is soon-to-be over in 4 more days.

Fully-scheduled week ahead is going to kill me.
As I always have stuff on after classes and will leave school at around 8pm - 9pm
So I'm often asked by my classmates, "So busy, you can tank ah?"
Well, I'm kind of used to staying back after lessons for stuff during my secondary school era.
And since graduating with a diploma cert w/ merit seems a little bit impossible for me now, I'm aiming for diploma w/ Gold CCA & a fun-filled 3 years experiences in Ngee Ann.
I'm currently at 21/72 PEARLS & 8/48 ARLS points to meet Gold criteria.

Back to the blog post which I've made on the 24th April, during Year 1 Sem 1; http://diversionofours.blogspot.com/2011/04/24th-april-2011.html
I've mentioned something about the long journey to school & dilemma on which CCAs to choose.
Ending off with "Okayyyyyyyyy.... I'll come back soon.
Hopefully.", I did not update anything about it so here I am.

I've bought the adult $52 bus concession & am taking 6 buses to Ngee Ann Polytechnic every day.
812 from my house to Yishun bus interchange, 852 to King Albert Park bus stop & 74/151/154 to the bus stop opposite Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
To get home from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, I'll take 74/151/154 to the After Rifle Range bus stop to board bus 852 back to Yishun Interchange, then 812 back home.
The whole traveling journey will take about 3hours.
They're just information for those who're curious.

Next, will be the exciting one. It'll be an update on my CCAs.
In the 24th April post, I've mentioned about joining NYAA(NationalYouthAchievementAward) Club, NgeeAnnOutwardBounder(NPOB), Canoeing Club & ICT(InfoComm Technology) Society.
I took the ICT Society registration form but was too busy with school work and I've fully forgotten about it.
I've signed up for NYAA Club to do my Gold fulfilment with the club, but it's on a Friday and it clashes with my main Adventure Club, so I've decided to give it a miss.
Yes, Adventure club but it's not NPOB. On the same Friday when I went to join the NPOB, I saw The Adventure Seekers(TAS) having their weekly Members' Act too. So instead of joining NPOB, I joined the TAS and its intensive training course soon after.
Canoeing Club was horrible, I went for the first few trainings held on Wednesday and missed the Canoe Orientation Camp for freshies due to clashes with TAS event. After that, I didn't attend it anymore cos' of the unbonded bonds with fellow Canoeists.
So there goes my NP Jacket, which requires representing of school in any competition as Canoeing Club is the only competitive CCA among my choices.

Currently, I'm on Sports Camp GL(Group Leader) training sessions on every Friday.
And it'll be the fourth & last, for those who didn't make it to the Elite 64, next Friday.
I sincerely hope to get into this committee as it'll definitely make an impact in my NP life.
But however, still no hard feelings as I know that "CLIQUE" is the key to dominance of fun elements in NP.
& unless you're in any school Society Club, if not you will only get CLIQ which sounds similar but definitely not there yet.
Regatta is coming to an end, after about a month training.
Regatta is a biennial Dragon Boat event held in Ngee Ann Polytechnics having different schools faculty to compete against each other. ICT Society has recruited about 30 people for this event and I'm one of them, maybe being the only one not from the society as well. Unfortunately, I'm not in the main 20 team, but I still do hope that they'll win & clinch the Champion trophy like how the ICT Dragons did in 2009, cos I've trained so hard for the slot.

Yeah, so in conclusion for my CCAs:
I'm in the TAS and went for the Council Interview.
Signed up for NYAA Gold & will be starting on it in Year 2.
Will be signing up for ICT Society to be Student Buddy.
Will be joining the WheelPower if I can, too.
& Hopefully, I'll get into the SSC(Student Sports Council) ;)

Dallas Mavericks vs Miami Heat ----- NBA Finals 2010-2011
(13 June 2011/11:44 AM)

Some random update after watching NBA Finals 2010-2011.
Disappointing much.
But have to admit that Dallas Mavericks is really a great team, though with old(EXPERIENCED is the word) players,
they demonstrated their strong desires for first ring.
Dirk Nowitski played 17 years of professional basketball, 4 in German League & 13 in NBA.
Jason Kidd entered NBA in 1994, as a Round 1 Pick 2.
Old but experienced, won the Younger team, the Heats.
This shows that Dirk's desire for his 1st ring is more than LBJ.
If only LBJ didn't sink into the decreasing-ability state.
The deeper he enter the playoffs, the worse he got. I have to agree with this fact, really.
Looking at his FINALS, he went 24, 20, 16 then 7. Bounced back to 17 but that's not HIS STANDARD.
He has a 24++ PPG average in his MVP run for the season.
I can't remember the statistics, but around there aye.
Yea.... in Game 4, clearly shown that Wade took the role of leader, trying to boost the morale of the demoralised Heat, by having that big block on Tyson Chandler. Heat followed up with a better FGA-M. I believe so, though I didn't check.
Now that Wade is injured in Game 5 and rather sloppy in performances & LBJ lost his KING's abilities.
This is when 3rd option, as well as 3rd man of the Miami Trio stands out.
Chris Bosh has the ability to change the flow of the game, just like Wade & LBJ.
His Game 3 baseline jumper showed it all.
He was pulverised in Game 2 by Dirk, who made the game-winning layup by the German All Star.
Well, he did it, 7-9 FGM-A, 5-7FTM-A, scoring 19 points & grabbing 8 rebounds.
But still, not enough, for the Mavs.

& I wasn't expecting this.
I wasn't expecting Dallas Mavericks to win, and Dirk Nowitski to get his Bill Russell. trophy..
I was expecting LBJ & Chris Bosh to get their 1st ring, Dwyane Wade for his 2nd Ring & 2nd Finals MVP Trophy.

Miami accumulated & then invested a bomb in the 2005 season, Wade(2003 Draft), Shaq(2004 HUGE trade), Alonzo, Walker, Payton. They brought back the NBA Championship title.
This year, it's on LeBron & Bosh. They brought back nothing, but a receipt of their salary; US$14,500,000 each.

RANDOM FACTS:
Loyal Heats - Wade & Udonis Haslem since 2003 & 2002 respectively.
Loyal Mavs duo - Dirk(1998) & Jason Terry(2004).

NBA 2010-11 Playoff Analysis and Update
(24 April 2011/7:05 PM)

2010-2011 NBA Regular Season has ended and it's already in the playoff now.

In the Eastern Conference Playoff
1. Chicago Bulls
2. Miami Heat
3. Boston Celtics
4. Orlando Magic
5. Atlanta Hawk
6. New York Knicks
7. Philadelphia 76ers
8. Indiana Pacers

In the Western Conference Playoff
1. San Antonio Spurs
2. Los Angeles Lakers
3. Dallas Mavericks
4. Oklahoma City Thunder
5. Denver Nuggets
6. Portland Trail Blazers
7. New Orleans Hornets
8. Memphis Grizzlies

Before I continue.. recall a post I made before Regular Season starts.
http://diversionofours.blogspot.com/2010/10/nba-pre-2011-season-prediction.html

Best Rookie : Blake Griffin
So indeed, he was in All-Star game & won Slam Dunk contest.
Confirm Rookie of the year already....though it's not yet been confirmed.

"EASTERN CONFERENCE:
Boston Celtics
Orlando Magic
New York Knicks
Chicago Bulls
Miami Heat
Atlanta Hawks
Indiana Pacers
Milwaukee Bucks"
\Milwaukee Bucks 35-47 didn't get in and instead, Philadelphia 76ers 41-41 got in.

"WESTERN CONFERENCE:
Los Angeles Lakers
Dallas Mavericks
San Antonio Spurs
Oklahoma City Thunder
Utah Jazz
Denver Nuggets
New Orleans Hornets
Houston Rockets"
Not so accurate on the Western side.
Utah Jazz 39-43 and Houston Rockets 43-39 didn't get in while Portland Trail Blazers 48-34 & Memphis Grizzlies 46-36 got in.

And yea... back to 2010-11 NBA Season Playoff..
Los Angeles Lakers fell on a 0-1 series against the Hornets and is back to a 2-1 lead now.
Orlando Magic seems to be struggling against the 5th seeded Atlanta Hawks, turning series leads over.
Game 3 was a close one, with Jamal Crawford sealing the game with a three-pointer dagger at 5.7secs left to play at 84-85
Miami Heat and Boston Celtics looking forward to have a 4-0 sweep series against 76ers and NY Knicks respectively tomorrow.
Eastern Top-seeded Chicago Bulls were on a 3-0 as they aim to sweep Indiana Pacers 4-0 today, but was led by the Pacers since 1st quarter until final quarter. Derrick Rose sprained his ankle in the late 1st quarter, giving the Bulls a blow in morale. It's Bulls leading 3-1 series now.
On the other hand, Western Top seeded San Antonio Spurs were on a 2-0 lead against the Memphis Grizzlies but after great nights by the Grizzlies, the series tied at 2.
As for Thunder, they should be able to sweep series 4-0 after a 3-0 lead today.
Denver without Carmelo Anthony and Billups won't be able to make it, cos it's too much for Nene & Ty Lawson.
Lastly, Blazers should be able to win over Dallas after tying series 2-2 despite 0-2 deficit.

Looking forward to tomorrow's matchups.
Game 4 of Miami Heat vs. Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks, Orlando Magic vs Atlanta Hawks & Los Angeles Lakers vs. New Orleans Hornets.

 IT02

It's been months since my last post..
I hope you peeps had a good February, March and April so far.
Yea... school has already started for me..
I'm currently taking up Information Technology (IT) in Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
Damn cool school, but not near at all.
I'm taking bus 852 to school every morning & it's about an hour ride.
Lesson starts at 9am for Monday and Wednesday to Friday.
Lesson ends at 5pm for Monday to Thursday.
Shucksssssss.
I'm now in a dilemma, cos I don't know which CCA to join!
I will sign up for the NYAA Chapter thingy...
By the time I graduate from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, I must be a NYAA Gold recipient.
And at least receive the CCA Bronze award.
So I must be active in my NP years...
I think I'll go sign up for ICT Society.. hoping to get in cos I didn't meet any criterias :O
As for my main CCA... I wanted NP Outward Bounders but it's on Friday.
Clashed with my Taekwondo @ 8pm at Nee Soon South CC.
Sigh.. second desired CCA in the list is X-Ventures, which is on every Monday & Wednesday from 2pm to 6pm.
Shucks, cos it clashed with my lessons.
So most likely, I'll go sign up for Canoeing club. :O
Its training days are on every Wednesday 5.30pm.
Okayyyyyyyyy.... I'll come back soon.
Hopefully.

Last day of January 2011
(31 January 2011/12:45 PM)

Regarding the weather of these few days:
天灾的前夕
或在某件大事将发生之前
往往都会有所启示
连雨而下难道是掩盖城市的预兆?
还是提醒我们要存水因为天旱要降临?

救命啊...我只不过要出去打篮球~
& yea, I posted this on Facebook as my status.
True, all I wanted was just to enjoy a basketball game or 2..
Finally had my OFF day on a Honey Monday & it ended up getting diluted.
Ah well well, so I could spend time with my blog~
(Being very optimistic here)

& don't think that I've stopped watching NBA just because I gave up on blogging about it!
I spent an hour a day to look through all the box scores & highlights!
Well, not all.. I just picked those matches with my teams* involved.
My teams*: Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Orlando Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder & Miami Heat.
Yeah....I don't like San Antonio Spurs & Dallas Mavericks and I have no idea why.

Back to entertainment-wise (dramas & films),
For dramas, I'm currently watching 7 Days In Life / 隔離七日情~
For movies, I've watched 鬼也笑, 大笑江湖, Shaolin & Green Hornet!
I'm moving on to 赵氏孤儿 & 非诚勿扰 soon.
As for 超级星光大道7, it's reaching The Finals soon!
Woo yeah.......

Back to my life~
For the not-so-updated,
I'm currently working as a Kitchen Helper (p/t) in Ajisan Ramen @ Plaza Singapura.
& honest speaking, I love this job a lot... except for the traveling part which is killing me -.-
I learnt a lot of things there...& I'm really proud of my adaptation.
Thanks a lot to Boys' Brigade for teaching me Life Skills.. laughs.
Ah ya, Pa & Ma gave my house a whole-grand-makeup.
Like wow... my corridor is awesome.
I would like to post pictures of it to share but unfortunately can't.
Well, with what? Wooden pen can't complete that task.
Oh ya, for those who are really outdated about me,
I'm posted to Ngee Ann Polytechnic, taking up IT Diploma.
Ask me why, & I would answer:
'IT Dip is definitely better in NYP but it doesn't offer me what I truly wants. Ngee Ann's School of Infocomm Technology offers me Information Technology(N54) - Information Security & Forensics.'
Simple enough? ^^
& I'm still in a dilemma on whether to apply for HOME Award or not.
Hopefully nothing goes wrong about it.

Yeah, that's all about it.
Cheers!

I'm now an Aries?!
(16 January 2011/11:37 AM)

What's the most IN and HOTTEST thing around the World now?
It's none other than the new horoscope signs!
Google flooded with these searches:
new astrology
new astrological signs
the new horoscope
new zodiac dates
& more related searches.
Some astronomers believe there is a 13th Zodiac sign called Ophiuchus, which falls between Scorpio and Sagittarius.
So you must be as curious as I am to find out about your new horoscope sign!

Here's the new zodiac sign:
Capricorn: Jan. 20 - Feb. 16
Aquarius: Feb. 16 - March 11
Pisces: March 11- April 18
Aries: April 18 - May 13
Taurus: May 13 - June 21
Gemini: June 21 - July 20
Cancer: July 20 - Aug. 10
Leo: Aug. 10 - Sept. 16
Virgo: Sept. 16 - Oct. 30
Libra: Oct. 30 - Nov. 23
Scorpio: Nov. 23 - Nov. 29
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29 - Dec. 17
Sagittarius: Dec. 17 - Jan. 20

True or not?!
There are still many questions and mixed reports about the zodiac change.
Other astrologers said the zodiac signs remain unchanged.
They point out two different versions of the zodiac: Tropical and Sidereal.

The tropical zodiac is mostly followed by those in the western hemisphere, and experts said those signs don't change.
However, easterners typically follow the sidereal zodiac, and experts said it's been known for years that those signs change from time to time.

Some add ons to inform you peeps!
A Gallup Poll said 25% of Americans believe the stars can affect their lives.
Here are extracts of 3 students' opinions:

"Now I don't know what I am anymore, so I'm a little lost right now," said freshman Joshua Cooper, who has always believed himself to be a Capricorn.

Some said they don't care. "I have no idea what I am and it doesn't bother me to be perfectly honest," said senior Alex Wiederspiel. "I don't think the sky can determine who I am, though I do enjoy reading my daily horoscope."

And others were said they're shocked about the new calendar. "I think it's absolutely preposterous. People have lived their lives by this, people have it tattooed on their skin," said junior Tanner Moore. "They read every day and decide how they're going to plan and carry out their conversations with their roommates and lovers and all the relationships in their lives."

Review:
It's definitely nice since '阿牛' & Linda is part of the starring casts!
^^ So shocking about finding out that Duk Chai has already passed away...
Cos I didn't read anything about the synopsis yet then.

Review:
Police officer's road to self-destruction. :(
A sadistic show.. :P
Okay.. no la, actually not bad!
It's been some time since I watch Felix Wong's dramas!
The only impression of him in a drama is 天龙八部/Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils(1997) where he casted as Qiao Feng.
Yaya.....

Synopsis(wikipedia):
In the mid 1820s, a natural disaster strikes the city of Nantong, tarnishing most of the city's rice fields. Running out of food supply for the citizens, city mayor Hong Chi-wing康梓榮 (Wong Wai Leung) uses the city's military food supply to feed the people. A few days after the disaster, an official from Beijing arrives to the city to check the military supply. Upon seeing an empty trailer, he sentences the Hong family to death. His daughter Hong Po-yin康寶琦 (Sheren Tang) escapes from punishment and becomes a maid in the Prince's mansion, living under the name Hong Po-kei.
Twenty years later, Po-kei reunites with the rich rice merchant Chiang Kiu蔣喬 (Elliot Ngok) at his manor in Wuxi, whom she was betrothed to before the disaster, while the Prince is there for a visit. Chiang Kiu's wife, Yan Fung-yee殷鳳儀 (Susan Tse) recognizes Po-kei and reveals her identity to the Prince. Chiang Kiu manages to convince the Prince to free her, and marries Po-kei as his fourth wife. He appreciates Po-kei's wisdom and persistence, and decides to entrust his business to her, telling her to find a suitable successor for him before he dies.
Hungry for power and eager to keep tradition, Fung-yee finds every opportunity for her son, the eldest child Bit-man蔣必文 (Pierre Ngo) to be the only heir of the family business. She tries to strip Po-kei from power even when Chiang Kiu's final will reads that Po-kei should be the full owner of the business.
Despite attacks from the family, Po-kei manages to keep the business in good shape. She is impressed with second son Bit-ching's蔣必正 (Ron Ng) intelligence and guides him to become the successor, but her efforts are met with Chai Kau's柴九 (Wayne Lai) challenges. Chai Kau seeks vengeance for being mistreated and wants a pay back from Bit-man and the Chiang's family uncle, Pang Hang彭鏗 (Henry Lee). After rounds of battle wits and fights, Po-kei and Chai Kau develop a deep friendship.
Chai Kau appreciates Po-kei's work ethics and pledges his loyalty to her. With their excellent cooperation and quick thinking, the business manages to survive through the locusts disasters and the Taiping Rebellion. Meanwhile third wife, Lau Fong劉芳 (Kara Hui) and Po-kei become good friends and sisters, to the point that Lau Fong even sacrifices her life to protect Po-kei.

Review:
Wayne Lai's cast as Chai Kau(柴九) can be said to be his career-saving role.
Chai Kau's popularity prompted Wayne Lai's rise to fame and he won several awards for this role.
Before his role as Chai Kau, the only impression I have of Wayne Lai was his cast as the Pigsy in 'The Journey to the West'.
Like wow.....he's now the 2009 & 2010 Best Actor award-winner.
& there's this line made famous by Chai kau in the show;
How many 10 years does one have in a lifetime?
人生有几多个十年.

This drama earned the 2009 Best Drama award. (:
